Norton Rose NQ retention rate falls

The top 10 law firm announced it is keeping 78 per cent of its spring qualifiers, holding onto 18 out of 23.

This is a slight fall from previous qualification rounds, after achieving 86 per cent in spring 2011, retaining 26 out of 30.

Meanwhile, for September 2011, the firm kept 14 out of 16 qualifying trainee solicitors, giving it a retention rate of 88 per cent.

The news follows Berwin Leighton Paisner confirming it is retaining 88 per cent of its NQ lawyers for the March 2012 qualifying round.

The top 20 firm is holding onto 15 out of a cohort of 17, which revealed a dip on results from the same point in 2011 where the firm achieved 100 per cent (19 January 2012).
