Norton Rose is mourning the death of one of its IT managers after he fell from the eighth floor of the firm’s new offices on the south bank of the River Thames.
The employee, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found dead on the ground floor of the firm's atrium at around 6.30pm on Friday (22 June).
A police investigation is underway. It is understood that the police arrived at the scene on Friday evening and continued their onsite work on Saturday.
A spokesman for the firm confirmed the death and said: "We're deeply saddened and our thoughts are with the family and staff first and foremost.
"We're not in a position to speculate about the background to his death nor would it be appropriate to do so while a police enquiry is underway."
Norton Rose's chief executive Peter Martyr informed staff of the death and has offered counselling to people who may be affected.
The firm's staff held a minute's silence yesterday (25 June) at midday in memory of the IT manager.
Norton Rose moved into its new office more than a month ago from its premises near Liverpool Street.
