Mark Lloyd Williams and Chris Pearson act for Philip Green's backer West LB
Norton Rose is the latest in a plethora of firms to get a slice of the Safeways action. The firm is advising Philip Greens financial backer, West LB, on its possible bid. The firm has acted for West LB before in connection with a number of the bank's own investments and also on its bid for Railtrack. Allen & Overy also maintains a strong relationship with West LB, but no doubt has its hands full with instructions from both Morrisons financial adviser ABN Amro and Wal-Marts banker Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. Corporate finance partners Mark Lloyd Williams and Chris Pearson are leading the Norton Rose team.
