Norton Rose corporate finance partner David Lewis has been elected as the senior partner to lead the firm into the new millennium.
Lewis, currently involved in advising SBC Warburg, the merchant bank representing US utility Southern Company, will take on his new role on the retirement of senior partner, Tony Kay, on 30 April 1997.
"I am delighted with the appointment," said Lewis.
"I think you can expect more of the same with a concentration of international corporate business."
He added: "It is more than an ambassadorial role, however, and I will continue to be heavily involved in corporate finance work for clients."
Chris Manners, head of business development at Norton Rose, said "[Lewis] is going to be prominent around the city community, the CBI and on the international scene. He will be following very much in the tradition of previous senior partners. The aim is for continuity."
