Norton Rose banking partner returns to City from Frankfurt

Norton Rose banking partner Tomas Gärdfors has returned to London after eight years in the firm’s Frankfurt office.

Gärdfors left the London offering for Germany in 2003, having joined Norton Rose in 2000. He started at the firm’s More London Riverside office this week.

The Swede’s practice will remain focused on acquisition finance. He said the move would bolster his ability to advise clients from his home nation, including power company Vattenfall, as Swedish companies often turn to London for financing.

Norton Rose opened in Frankfurt ten years ago and has since grown to ten banking partners across offices in Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg.

The Hamburg office launched in February with seven partners from DLA Piper (25 February 2011).
