Norton Rose project partner Simon Currie led a team advising Société Générale, Calyon and Royal Bank of Scotland on financing the UK's first bioethanol plant. Clifford Chance project finance partner Margaret Gossling and Halliwells corporate partner Tim Jackson Smith acted for green fuels company Ensus on the £153.5m deal. Clifford Chance energy partner Bleddyn Phillips advised private equity groups the Carlyle Group and Riverstone Holdings. The plant will help the UK meet the European 2010 target of having 5 per cent of transport running on biofuel.
