Northern Rock general counsel takes post-buyout role at Virgin Money

Fitzpatrick, who held the role of general counsel at Northern Rock, joins ex-RBS litigation chief Stephen Pearson, who became Virgin Money’s first general counsel in 2010 (28 June 2010).

Both report to Virgin Money chief executive Jayne-Anne Gadhia.

Allen & Overy and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer led on Virgin Money’s acquisition of the nationalised bank, which completed at the end of last year (17 November 2011).
