German law firm Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz has beefed up its energy law practice with the appointment of the chairman of German energy providerRWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems AG to the firm.
Dr Wolfgang Kässer will join Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz on 1 January, concentrating on new energy legislation on unbundling, pricing, transmission and emission trading.
He will work alongside the firm’s existing energy law specialist Uwe Erling, who concentrates on the allocation of emission rights.
Dr Kässer held his previous present position as chairman of the management board of RWE Westfalen-Weser- Ems AG since October 2003. He was also a member of the management board of the parent company RWE Energy AG until March 2004.
