For the second year, the Leicestershire Law Society held the Schools Court Competition on 16 November 2013. The competition, sponsored by No5 Chambers, involved students from eight schools.
No5 Chambers sponsored the prize of Best Court Official, which was won by Semilore Adabay from St Paul’s School.
The competition, which took place at Leicester Crown Court, allowed students from local schools to take part in mock trials.
Students aged 13–16 were given a case to prepare beforehand, and the defence team had to persuade the jury, which is also made up of pupils, that the defendant was innocent.
