Merger talks between San Francisco-based Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and New York's Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine have collapsed, in spite of the resolution of a conflict problem reported in The Lawyer on 3 March. The collapse is believed to be due to disagreement over some commercial aspects of the deal. Despite this, Orrick Herrington is reported to be keen on taking on a team of litigation lawyers from Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine.
