No let-up in Taylor Wessing exodus as three partners quit

Finance partner Mark Raines has formed London boutique Raines & Co, which specialises in international fixed-income markets.

Corporate and technology partner Paul Webb, who had been on secondment at client Cofra, will join ­Goodman Derrick on 14 November alongside corporate partner recruit Simon McLeod from Bird & Bird.

Public law and litigation partner Len Murray is also quitting the firm to take a career break.

Ten partners have now left the London practice since early May, including private equity duo Mark Davis and Russell Van Praagh to Dewey & LeBoeuf, financial regulatory partner Clive Cunningham to Herbert Smith and finance partners Dominic Ross and Akmal Ghauri to Osborne Clarke.

The firm has hired into its IP, hotels and disputes groups in the same period.

HR head Caroline Rawes said: “We have a strategy and ambitious targets. It isn’t unexpected that some individuals will decide it isn’t for them.”
