No knowledge of college

Tulkinghorn is always delighted to deal with enquiries from young ladies, but was rather bemused the other day when a student rang from Somerville College, Oxford. Studying classics, she had decided she wanted to become a lawyer but did not know anything about how to go about it. So she rang the Law Society to find out how long the training was and what form it took. Despite the society being in charge of education and training for the profession, the person she spoke to suggested she ring The Lawyer. Good choice.
