No half measures at Wetherspoon as it brings legal expertise in-house

National pub operator JD Wetherspoon has appointed Clare Eames to the position of legal director.

Eames was previously a partner at the Hertford-based law firm McLellans, where she was responsible for the licensing and regulatory department.

She will be responsible for a team of eight legal staff at the company's head office in Watford.

Eames said: "Before taking on my new role I worked closely with Wetherspoon's legal department, while I was at McLellans , on the licensing side of the business. I believe that my knowledge of the company will be a great asset and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead, including the government's licensing reform."
