US firm Nixon Peabody is shutting down its Paris office as it moves to focus on managing its US operations.
The firm is planning to use referral and network relationships to handle business in France and Europe in the future.
The news follows the September announcement that rated TMT partner Arnaud de Senilhes was leaving Nixon Peabody for Jeantet Associés (24 September 2012). De Senilhes helped set up the Paris office in 2008 when he left Taylor Wessing with a team of 13 partners in 2008 (28 October 2008).
Nixon Peabody currently has 11 partners, seven associates and a paralegal listed on its website for Paris, led by managing partner Douglas Glucroft. Paris is one of just four non-US offices for the firm, which is also present in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
A spokesperson for the firm said in a statement: “Nixon Peabody is constantly focused on managing our business in the US and internationally to best serve the needs of our clients. With that as our priority, we are closing our Paris office, and will continue to serve our clients in France and Europe through our association with our Paris colleagues, the Terralex network, and other referral relationships.”
