Nixon fixin’ to grow

It could be the dawning of a new era for Nixon Peabody. The US firm announced the election of New York-based finance head Richard Langan to managing partner, replacing the handsomely named Harry Trueheart III.

The firm has high hopes for its international strategy, which recently saw the launch of the firm’s first European office in London. Langan and Trueheart (who remains on the management board) are in the midst of expansion discussions ahead of Langan taking up his post in earnest on 1 May.

While Nixon Peabody partners are no doubt keen to hear what the future holds for the US firm, talks on conquering the international legal markets are all too familiar, with Trueheart promising expansion outside of home territory.

With Asia and London tipped as two of the significant focal points of 2008, office launches could well be on the cards.

Langan will hopefully reveal the firm’s plans for world domination in May.
