Robin Tutty has left Fox Williams, where he was a partner, to become joint head of insolvency at Nicholson Graham & Jones.
A non-contentious insolvency specialist, Tutty will oversee the Nicholsons practice in conjunction with contentious expert Tony Griffiths. Nicholsons managing partner Michael Johns said that the appointment was the result of a concerted effort to boost the non-contentious side of the practice. He said: "We're very happy with Robin. He combines the technical skills and contacts we were hoping for." Although Tutty was unavailable to discuss specific clients, Johns said that he hoped Tutty's existing clients would continue to instruct him in his new position. He added: "For the future, we look forward to continuing growth in our insolvency group." Tutty's arrival coincides with the unrelated departure of insolvency partner Paul Oughton, who is leaving the firm later in the year. Oughton's destination is as yet undisclosed, but he is not thought to have a particular firm in mind.
