However each partner will start their new roles at different points, with Jones to join in the new year and Ustaran expected to serve an 18-month notice period which keeps him at FFW until May 2015.
Jones has been a partner with legacy Norton Rose for over 10 years, becoming part of its firmwide supervisory board after it merged with US firm Fulbright & Jaworski in June (2 June 2013). He is joining Hogan Lovells’ antitrust, competiton and economic regulation practice as a partner and will not be joining with any associates.
His exit comes as former Norton Rose Fulbright Beijing head and long-serving real estate partner Peter Burrows joins newly established Beijing firm DaHui Lawyers (7 November 2013).
Norton Rose Fulbright competition head Martin Coleman said in a statement: “After 20 years at the firm, we can understand that Mark is leaving for a fresh challenge. He has been a great colleague personally and we would like to thank him for his contribution to the firm.”
