London’s lawyers will be among the professionals nursing the sorest heads today, after research from Addison Lee showed that the legal industry was predicted to out-party most of the capital’s workforce.
The report from London’s biggest minicab firm showed that only those working in fashion were expected to stay out longer last night, the busiest night of the year for workplace Christmas parties.
While the fashion industry was predicted to party until 4am at venues such as the Orange Public House and Baltic Restaurant, a lawyer’s average journey home was expected at 3am from industry favourites Hakkasan and Marco Pierre White.
Fellow City workers headed home at 2am, with both bankers and consultants leaving at that hour from Madison Restaurant at One New Change and the Gun and W Hotel, Le Meridien and Café Royal respectively.
In contrast, public-sector workers and architects both chose to leave at the Scrooge-like hour of midnight, with the public sector calling cabs from Parkers Restaurant and the Grosvenor Hotel and architects leaving the Bloomsbury Ballroom, Skylon and Oblix at The Shard.
Addison Lee’s predictions were based on booking data from 25 November to 10 December 2013 and analysis from recent years.
