  • Wheelan is a hottie too. With Harris joining imminently, Hogan's corporate team isn't a place I'd mind being in!

  • He is a top guy - grounded and commercial, and with the energy needed to take the team to the next level, which is what Hogans needs to do now and clearly what it intends to do given recent developments. Seems that his first job will be welcoming Ed Harris into the fold and ensuring that Ed is able to continue building his practice.

  • The Hogan Lovells corporate department really needs an injection of some sort - a new lease of life to take it forward and shed its 'hum drum', mediocre persona - so this is a step in the right direction and what the department needs, combined with Ed Harris's arrival.

  • HL needs to put its money where it's mouth is and start spending some cash on strengthening and developing its corporate team. That's key to HL "pushing" it's London division. • I don't think Hogan's are exactly "pushing" their London PE practice. Don't forget, the article says that Greenough is retiring, so the hire of Harris isn't an expansion of the team at partner level. I'm at KWM and I don't think Harris is taking a team with him to Hogans, so again, not an expansion stemming from the hire of him at associate level either. Struggling to see why there's a buzz over Hogans doing this massive development of its PE practice when it doesn't strike me that they actually are.

  • I thought Ed Harris was joining as head of the department? If not, why on earth didn't he push for that if he knew Alan Greenough was retiring? Non sensical.
