This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
The report is the first of its kind and lists the fastest growing SMEs in the UK. Criteria included having positive growth over the last four years and turnover in the region of £6m to £250m in the 12 months up to October 2013.
Edwards Wildman, the only law firm on the list to be headquartered outside the UK, entered London in 2008 when legacy Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge merged with Kendall Freeman (7 January 2008). It continues to have a strong UK practice, turning over £27.8m in 2012 according to Companies House filings.
The UK firms on the list are also growing strongly. Stewarts Law produced average profit per equity partner of more than £1m for the first time last year (3 July 2013) with turnover of £45.2m. MAB also had a strong year with PEP rising by 57 per cent (14 August 2013) while Bates Wells and BLM both saw turnover rise.
Fletchers CEO Ed Fletcher said the firm was “immensely proud” to appear on the list.
