  • Well! What do you know?

I see that the Fulbright head of practice for the Middle East has changed so I guess it is clear who is leading the proposed exodus out of Fulbright. Take a bow Mr Lonsberg.

The missing link is the Saudi practice. Rumor is that the Saudi practice is staying with Fulbright. This has to reduce the value of the offering to the "leading US firm" at the very least.

Good luck to them all. For sure the key players won't be out of pocket whatever happens.

  • Why is baker botts not mentioned? Or was this a condition of the story being leaked by FJ?

  • The comments on profits seem a little wide of the mark given that NR anf FJ have come together elsewhere. Sounds more like an ego thing - who is going to be in charge - i guess the american arm didnt want to join the uk arm and vice versa. running 2 different groups in the region was never going to be the way forward, so perhaps its best for all concerned that the full service business stays with the new super firm and the St. Louis boutique finds pastures new.

  • Protests from the Fulbright & Jaworski side? Sure you've got that the right way round? I heard a very different version of what happened.

  • Does Baker Botts have/want a St Louis office?

Will Uncle Sam be out in the cold in this new arrangement or will he have to find a new home closer to the action in the Middle East?

  • Dear Anonymous at 7:38 pm, can you tell us any more?

Dear Matt: What St Louis office are you talking about? Have you been to Festival City recently? It even has an M&S cafe!

  • Golly.

So many questions and so few answers. We all know the old Bryan Cave team will follow Lonsberg anywhere. But what about the disputes team? Will they go or will they stay?

And what about Saudi Arabia? I'm sure the Saudi partner must be carefully considering his future.

I can't wait to see what will happen.
