This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
With the New Year comes partner promotion season, and the names of the lucky lawyers chosen to rise up the ranks are flooding into our inboxes from across Europe.
Most firms have made up one or two lawyers, with litigation a popular practice area for promotion by many.
But UK firm Osborne Clarke has demonstrated its commitment to the Continent by promoting five lawyers to its partnership in its European offices, which merged with the firm last year.
Three of the promotions are in Spain, with one in Cologne and one in Milan as well. The firm has also hired Simone Monesi from Latham & Watkins to join its partnership in Milan.
With Osborne Clarke also planning launches in Paris and Brussels, the promotions send a clear sign to its European operations that it is serious about building on the Continent.
PS. Questionnaires for the European 100 went out last week. If your firm turns over more than €25m and you did not receive the email, get in touch with Europe editor Joanne Harris at email@example.com.
