German multi-disciplinary firm Rödl & Partner has strengthened its presence in Italy with the hire of the Milan office of local M&A firm BLF Studio Legale.
Led by partners Daniele Bonvicini and Alessandro Borelli, the move adds six lawyers to Rödl’s Italian operations.
Rödl already has four offices in Italy, in Bolzano, Padova and Rome as well as Milan, with a team of lawyers, tax specialists, accountants and auditors.
Italy managing partner Stefan Brandes said there would be synergy between the BLF team’s M&A practice and the firm’s other service offerings in Italy. Lawyer Giuliana Durand also brings experience in banking and finance and restructuring.
Bonvicini was one of a group of five partners from MBL & Partners who spun off to form BLF in 2010. MBL renamed itself Marena D’Angelo & Fagotto and later merged with Pedersoli e Associati (7 July 2011).
He said that the chance of joining an international law firm was an “excellent opportunity” and an “exciting challenge” for the team.
BLF is left with three partners and a number of associates in Bologna.
Rödl & Partner is one of the largest multi-disciplinary firms in Germany, turning over €281m in 2012 of which approximately €145m was derived from legal activities.
