Dentons has hired White & Case’s EMEA director of strategic projects Richard Singer as its new European chief operating officer (COO).
Singer will be based in Dentons’ Prague office and will report to European CEO Tomasz Dabrowski and global COO Orest Szot, who is based in Toronto.
He replaces Peter Griffith, who stepped down from the role in April. Griffith was first appointed as global COO of legacy Salans in 2011 (10 August 2011).
Singer joined White & Case in May 2009 as European COO and became director of strategic projects in January last year. Prior to White & Case, Singer worked at EY in a variety of business development and operational roles.
At Dentons, Singer will be responsible for Europe’s business support teams including finance, HR, IT, business development and marketing teams. He will also be a member of the global operating committee, sitting alongside the firm’s regional and global CEOs, as well as Szot.
Dabrowski said in a statement that Singer’s appointment would support improvements to the firm’s operational efficiency and business performance at a regional and global level.
The appointment follows the process of integration following Dentons’ tripartite merger in April 2013 (22 February 2013). Dabrowski was appointed as European CEO at the start of this year (31 October 2013), replacing Dariusz Oleszczuk.
