Ashurst partners will go back to the polling booths this week, asked to decide whether there should be a full financial integration with its Australian offices. Insiders suggest that the vote is just a matter of formality, with candidates for the top managerial role already being circulated amongst partners.
Representing the litigators is London-based partner Ben Tidswell, who will go up against current senior partner and corporate specialist Charlie Geffen. The pair will compete with Sydney-based competition partner Peter Armitage for the chairmanship.
It is a vote that will decide how Ashurst will compete on the international stage and will determine whether Ashurst truly can be a global force to be reckoned with.
