  • Hope the SJ Berwin merger will go ahead. Guess having UK or US capability is more urgent for a firm wants to be truly international.

  • The true challenge for a firm to go international is: what value you can add to the world and the profession! Scale does not mean much! Big and strong can only work in China, where the rule of law and the sense of equality are not strong enough for upholding a level platform for all the firms, small or big!

  • WongPartnership has nothing to bring to an international firm apart from local clients, and its management is not ready to undergo the necessary reorganisation of internal power a merger would entail. No wonder they blocked the deal. But this strategy is not sustainable and they will loose in the long term.
