K&L Gates has hired five partners across Melbourne, Perth and Sydney from international and Australian rivals.
In Perth, the firm has added former Squire Sanders partner Amber Stanton to its energy, infrastructure and resources practice, and employment partner Andrew Kennedy, who was previously the legal services manager of mining company Newmont Australia.
In Sydney, employment partner Christa Lenard joins from Clayton Utz and tax partner Betsy-Ann Howe joins from Sparke Helmore. In Melbourne, the firm has hired tax partner Alan Maclean from HWL Ebsworth.
K&L Gates entered into Australia through the merger with Australian firm Middletons, which went live on 1 January 2013 (4 December 2012). Since then, the firm has added 11 partners in Australia, including the latest five.
