This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
No, this isn’t some Gollum-style riddle, although the answer is really quite simple once you know and indeed it is something quite precious. All of these US-headquartered firms (HogLove’s positioning since its merger as a dual US/UK managed firm appears to have taken a bit of a knock since the appointment of a single US-based CEO in the shape of US co-head of litigation Steven Immelt) feature in this year’s Hot 100, our annual collection of the great, good and genius in the (primarily) UK legal market.
There are no awards, no speeches and no ceremony to speak of at the Hot 100 party, which takes place this evening in the City of London. So that’s a relief.
What there is, is a networking extravaganza featuring some of the UK’s top lawyers. Many of these stars from US firms will be in attendance, mingling with their peers and having a glass or two of bubbly on us.
We’re happy to say that, for once at least, it is extremely well deserved in all cases.
