Jones Day has promoted nine lawyers outside of the US to the partnership in its 34-strong global promotion rounds, including two in London, three in Europe and four in Asia.
The 34 promotions will take effect on 1 January 2014.
In London, Jones Day has elected disputes lawyer Adam Brown and restructuring lawyer David Harding to partner. In Europe, employment lawyer Jean-Michel Bobillo, and M&A lawyers Manuel Vara and Undine von Diemar were made up, based in Paris, Madrid and Munich respectively.
In Asia, energy lawyer Joanne Du and capital markets lawyer Joelle Lau in Hong Kong, together with disputes lawyers Ming-Wei Lo, in Taipei, and Takashi Tanazawa, in Tokyo, were promoted.
In the US, Chicago office saw the largest number of promotions as five lawyers were promoted. Cleveland and Atlanta promoted four and three lawyers respectively. Columbus, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington DC had two each, while Houston, San Francisco and Silicon Valley had one each.
Among the 34 promotions, litigation and dispute resolution, employment and M&A were the biggest areas with nine, six and four promotions respectively. Other promotions run across banking & finance, energy, real estate, capital markets, restructuring, antitrust and IP.
