Hogan Lovells has named Jackie Newstead as its global head of real estate, taking the reins from current co-heads Bruce Parmley and Michael Stancombe.
Newstead will serve as global head of real estate from January 2014, filling the shoes of Parmley, who will become head of real estate for the Americas and will be based in Washington, and Stancombe, who is retiring after 35 years with the firm.
Parmley’s title as head of real estate for the Americas is a new one for the firm, formed as part of the department rejig. However a spokesperson said Parmley has been doing many aspects of the job already in his current role as department co-head.
Meanwhile London-based Newstead, who has been a partner at the firm since 1997 and specialises in all aspects of commercial real estate, will hand her current role as group manager of real estate in London to real estate partner Michael Gallimore.
Stancombe became head of real estate in 2009 alongside long-term friend and colleague Bob Kidby, who soon became the non-executive director of property developer Welbeck Land (2 June 2009).
