Manchester-headquartered insurance firm Horwich Farrelly has appointed Allianz Global Assistance UK (AGA UK) chairman Mike Webb to its board in a bid to forge deeper relationships with the insurance industry.
Webb also sits on the board of Nextcare, a third party administrator for health insurance in the Middle East region and a director of ECInsurance, a subsidiary of the Electrical Contractors Association is tasked with building partnerships in the in the insurance sector while preparing Horwich Farelly for diversification into new insurance services.
Prior to becoming chairman of AGA UK, Webb was CEO of Mondial Assistance UK for 20 years, which rebranded to Allianz Global Assistance in October last year.
Horwich Farrelly chief executive Anthony Hughes said Webb’s appointment was an opportunity to strengthen the business in light of recent regulatory changes in the sector.
Horwich Farrelly converted to an ABS earlier this year in preparation for changes to the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act which came into force on 1 April (16 January 2013).
