Baker & McKenzie corporate partner James Reed has joined DAC Beachcroft’s company and commercial team in Bristol.
Reed specialises in cross-border and domestic M&A work with a particular focus in the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors.
DAC’s Bristol regional senior partner Tony Cherry said the appointment “is further testament to the role of Bristol as the city of choice for many overseas clients, particularly in emerging markets, who are on the hunt for a keenly priced but high quality alternative to London.”
“There is a very clear plan to take the corporate and commercial business in Bristol to the next level and I look forward to playing a key part in achieving that,” Reed added.
Reed was at Baker & McKenzie for 12 years. He joins from the firm’s London office but was formerly based in its Abu Dhabi office as one of three founding partners (13 July 2009).
The news comes just days after Capsticks took a five-partner team from DAC Beachcroft’s health practice in Leeds (30 August 2013).
