  • And he was one of the very few who foresaw, and warned, that the Woolf reforms would be the disaster they have been for the justice system.

Undoubtedly he is one of the last of the truly independent thinkers of the Bar, way above the general "go with the crowd" mediocities.

  • Similar to David Moyes following Sir Alex Ferguson, this really is the end of an era. And now a similar hand-over in the Clerks Room perhaps... ?

  • Perhaps more akin to Harry Redknapp being replaced by AVB, to continue the footballing analogy; the latter being more able, better looking, younger and, in time, in all likelihood far more successful.

No "....hand-over in the Clerks Room..." is required. The Senior Clerk at this titan set should be lauded not denigrated in this way, impliedly or otherwise.

  • @ Anonymous | 25-Jun-2013 2:00 pm - are you Mrs Grief in disguise?! Keep your wig on - anyone who suggests that Grief's and Pollock's paths and fortunes have not been intimately connected is delusional. These two individuals built the titan set of which you speak and to wonder whether Grief will go now that Pollock has gone is the obvious question.
