Clifford Chance has elected partner Simon Sinclair as its new London capital markets head succeeding partner Andrew Forryan.
Sinclair will take up the role on 1 December after being elected this morning following a contested vote.
Forryan is stepping down from the role after one term at the helm and will continue as a full-time partner in the capital markets team. He was elected as City capital markets head in November 2009 to replace David Bickerton, who became London managing partner (24 November 2009).
Sinclair has spent the last nine years as a partner in the firm’s banking and finance department and specialises in debt and equity capital markets.
His appointment marks the second Clifford Chance election announced today, following the election of Chris Davies as global head of tax, pensions and employment this morning (11 November 2013).
Clifford Chance’s London capital markets practice has over 100 lawyers including 19 partners.
