Helping special needs children with their homework.
What was your worst experience as a trainee?
My first advocacy as a trainee, when my client changed his statement during cross-examination. He lost his case.
Where’s the best place to go if you want to find out what’s really going on in the office?
What time do you usually leave the office?
Not later than 7pm.
What do you do at weekends?
Mainly drive my children around to sports events and parties.
If you weren’t a lawyer what would you have been?
Probably something in advertising. Or at home.
What’s your favourite film?
I saw The Hurt Locker recently and liked it.
Otherwise, Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Michelle by The Beatles.
Who’s your hero and why?
Friedrich Froebel, a German pedagogue who laid the foundation for modern education based on the recognition that children have unique needs and capabilities.
He developed the concept of the kindergarten.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Flexibility and diversity.
What’s the toughest thing about your job?
What’s your biggest work/career mistake and what did you learn from it?
Not leaving a previous employer earlier when I wasn’t happy there.

What car do you drive?
A Land Rover and an Audi.
What book are you currently reading?
I have a number of unfinished reads: Stalin: the Court of the Red Tsar by Simon Sebag Montefiore; Good to Great by Jim Collins; and Tanne by Thomas Dinesen (about the author Karen Blixen).
What’s on your iPod at the moment?
Gorillaz, Pendulum, Keith Jarrett and Mike Sheridan.
What’s your favourite children’s book?
Any stories by Hans Christian Andersen.
What’s the most exciting deal/case you’ve worked on and why?
Cross-border litigation in Denmark and England, when we used our internal knowledge of both systems to outmanoeuvre a major City law firm.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what two luxury items would you take?
My iPhone and a charger.
What’s the worst partner conference location you’ve attended and why?
I usually have good experiences at conferences.
What’s the longest you’ve worked without sleep?
I can’t work without sleep, but the answer is 24 hours.
If a movie was being made about your life, which actor would play you and why?
The young Marlon Brando, because he’s so sexy.
Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with and why?
Anyone who suffers from claustrophobia, I guess.

I’m a good cook; I’ve crossed the Atlantic in a 30ft yacht; I know when to shut up.
