It is the latest in a series of high profile partner hires including former Clyde & Co partner Richard Britain as head of its newly formed corporate insurance practice (4 December 2012). This came just weeks after the firm officially opened in Beijing after Shanghai contentious shipping partner Wai Yue Loh relocated to the office (25 July 2012).
In February DLA Piper laid off six capital markets fee-earners in Hong Kong with the firm adjusting its Asia Pacific businesses to new market conditions in the region (22 February 2013).
At the same time the firm elected Singapore litigation head John Goulios as local managing partner, taking over from Matthew Glynn who will remain a partner in Singapore.
The hire of David comes just weeks after the latest partner promotions round with three made up. They are: Rania Tadros who is relocating from London to Dubai; Hamburg-based Sami Chowdhury and Evangelos Catsambas who is based in the firm’s Piraeus office.
