Chadbourne & Parke has overhauled a number of key leadership positions in the EMEA region, naming insurance partner Adrian Mecz as the US firm’s new London managing partner.
Mecz was appointed to the position after former London head Claude Serfilippi took on the newly created role of EMEA liaison partner and Moscow managing partner.
A spokesperson said the firm’s head of Moscow, Mikhail Rozenberg, will continue managing the day-to-day running of the office while Serfilippi will steer Moscow’s strategy from London. Senior partner Rozenberg advised Roman Abramovich in a commercial dispute with Russian oligarch Boris Beresovsky earlier last year (27 February 2012).
Meanwhile Istanbul managing partner Ayşe Yüksel will take on the role of EMEA liaison partner. Like Serfilippi she will take on the newly-created role alongside her management position.
According to the firm the new role is aimed at improving communication with the firm’s clients in the region. A spokesperson said: “[It is] designed to promote greater communication and foster improved coordination among the firm’s international offices outside of the Americas.”
Chadbourne became one of the first US firms to establish an office in Moscow when it opened in 1990.
Neither Mecz or Serfilippi were available for comment at the time of writing.
