Walker Morris's Corporate Group reports increased activity in 2012
Walker Morris has announced that its Corporate Group completed more than 120 deals in 2012 — a 24 per cent increase on the previous year.
Deal highlights included the acquisition of Bathstore by Endless, the rescue of national shoe retailer Barratts and the secondary management buyout of food manufacturer Symington’s.
Dealmakers are also finding an increasing amount of work from overseas. Earlier in the year, Debbie Jackson, corporate partner, advised NASDAQ-listed EZCorp on its $22m (£14m) acquisition of a 72 per cent stake in online loan provider Cash Genie.
In addition, Walker Morris’s Corporate Group recently won German client BMG, a music rights management company, to advise on its acquisition of a German music catalogue from Universal Music Group.
