Nabarro advises UK Coal on restructuring as Coalfield Resources plc
Nabarro has advised long-term client UK Coal on the restructuring of its business which completed on Monday 10 December. The company will now be known as Coalfield Resources plc.
The restructuring process began on 14 March 2012 and involved a number of third parties, including customers, pension funds, banks, shareholders, the Coal Authority, the Pensions Regulator and the Department for Energy and Climate Change. It was a complex process and Nabarro advised on the transfer of assets, share sales, pensions, environmental policies, real estate issues and tax procedures.
The cross-practice Nabarro team advising on the transaction was led by corporate partner Ben Hendry, with partner Niall Logan leading on real-estate matters.
