Shoosmiths expands its pensions team

National law firm Shoosmiths has appointed partner Tracey Hemingway to its pensions team, together with documentation specialist Steve Phillips.

Hemingway and Phillips, both based at Shoosmiths’ Solent office, come from the in-house pensions legal team at Mercer.

Hemingway, who was a principal at Mercer, is experienced in advising trustee and employer clients, document drafting, mergers and legal compliance.

Phillips has extensive experience of drafting pension scheme deeds and other documentation, as well as dealing with HM Revenue & Customs, the Pensions Regulator and other relevant authorities.

Shoosmiths advises occupational pension schemes and sponsoring employers, acting for more than 200 occupational schemes, ranging from £1m to £1bn. Its specialist pensions lawyers advise clients on all aspects of pensions law, including Pensions Act 1995/2004 and other compliance issues, scheme mergers and restructuring, buy-outs and buy-ins and pensions litigation issues.
