Olswang appoints Azlinda Ariffin-Boromand as a partner in its corporate team
Oslwang has appointed Azlinda Ariffin-Boromand to the role of partner in the corporate team. She will continue to be based in London, working closely with the firm’s Singapore team, focusing on outbound business from Asian markets, and particularly from Malaysia.
She joins Olswang from Fasken Martineau LLP, where she was co-leader of the south-east Asia practice.
Ariffin-Boromand was recognised by Chambers Global (2012) as a Malaysian ‘expert based abroad’ within the field of ‘banking and finance: capital markets’, and as a UK ‘foreign expert’ within the field of ‘capital markets: equity’. She was also recognised in Legal 500 (2012) under ‘flotations: small and midcap’ for ‘her strong connections in south-east Asia’.
Ariffin-Boromand will build on her experience in advising a range of companies in the Asia Pacific region on equity fundraisings and mergers and acquisitions involving a number of Malaysian companies and Malaysian sovereign funds and government-related entities.
She is a barrister with Gray’s Inn and practised as an advocate and solicitor in Malaysia for 12 years between 1994 and 2006, before moving to the UK to re-qualify as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2007.
