Capital markets tax attorney joins Mayer Brown
Mayer Brown has announced that capital markets tax attorney Mark H Leeds has joined the firm in New York as a partner in the Tax Transactions and Consulting practice.
Previously, he was a shareholder in the New York office of Greenberg Traurig.
Leeds focuses his practice on the tax consequences of a variety of capital markets products and strategies, including over-the-counter derivative transactions, swaps, tax-exempt derivatives and strategies for efficient utilisation of tax attributes, such as net operating losses.
He has worked with a variety of clients, including banks, hedge funds and family offices. A significant portion of his work involves the taxation of financial products and trading strategies engaged in by banks and other financial market participants. Leeds also advises hedge funds and other investment vehicles on formation and trading matters.
