Sausage-skin maker Devro has hired Dairy Crest’s former deputy company secretary Andrew Money as its first London-based in-house lawyer.
The FTSE 250 company, which makes edible collagen casings for sausages, is headquartered in Scotland but opened a small office in London during 2012 as public demand for bangers saw its revenues swell.
Money joins Devro as deputy company secretary having been at Dairy Crest, one of the UK’s largest purchasers of fresh milk, for four years. Devro’s company secretary is based in Scotland and Money said there were no immediate plans to expand the legal team in London.
Magic circle firm Clifford Chance is listed as the main legal adviser on Devro’s website. Clifford Chance has counted Devro as a client since it advised the company on its management buyout and subsequent flotation, which took place more than 20 years ago.
It is not known who is replacing Money at Dairy Crest.
