Lawrence Graham partner Jane Fox-Edwards has quit the firm to join Allen & Overy (A&O) as head of its property litigation group.
Fox-Edwards leaves the firm after 23 years and is succeeded by real estate partner Carole Peet.
Fox-Edwards will join A&O as a consultant to lead a five-strong team and will sit within the firm’s litigation practice. She replaces partner Beverly Vara, who is to retire from the firm.
The move, Fox-Edwards said, was prompted by a desire for a “fresh challenge”.”There is scope for some really interesting work with A&O, and an opportunity to get involved with property finance and complex deals” she said.
In the past she has acted for property investors, corporate occupiers, retailers, developers and lenders, often at a strategic level.
Yesterday, the magic circle firm promoted 19 lawyers to its partnership, with London receiving the largest proportion (11 April 2013).
