Single-office London firm Forsters has made up two partners in its latest round, half the number of last year.
The new partners, which include one of the firm’s first-ever trainees, are Xavier Nicholas in private client and Ronan Ledwidge in real estate. Nicholas focuses on tax planning and offshore investment structures while Ledwidge specialises in landlord and tenant, acting in particular for institutional investors and property funds.
Forsters managing partner Paul Roberts said: “We see offshore as a big area of opportunity and Xavier will strengthen that over the next 12 months. We’ve seen steady growth in property, which means we’re now back to where we were at the peak, partly because we have a strong institutional client base who are not reliant on debt.”
Nicholas joined Forsters as a two year PQE from Macfarlanes while Ledwidge qualified at the firm.
The 2013 promotions takes Forsters’s total partner number to 42 (4 April 2012).
The firm has made one lateral hire to its partnership over the last 18 months, bringing in legacy Howard Kennedy corporate partner Craig Thompson in October 2011.
