  • It must be a bit embarrassing to have to admit to hiring the ship. Don't they have their own, like everyone else?

  • @ExCityLawFirmWorker - I know, I know. There is a great stand-up comedy act routine which could be fashioned from this story. I was just subverting your expectations.

  • Anon @3.14. I had a sharp intake of breath followed by several minutes of hilarity from your post. Sailing a bit close to the wind (if you forgive the pun), unless the folks involved have come clean and gone public (?)

  • Then, if you are any size of bsuiness then you need to think how they are spending your fees and what value for money you are getting for your hourly rate.

    One what? Realist? Non-hypocrite?

Don't you have a tree to hug? Or perhaps a bit of voluntary work to convince yourself that despite trousering a healthy wad you are a caring sort who believes in giving something back (other than your hard-earned, obviously).

    Yawn.

  • GC of large UK retailer. Eversheds are utterly detached from the economic realities faced by their clients, it does them little credit and I hope Tyco are watching very closely.

  • As an ex-DLA-er myself, I remember all sorts of inspirational soundtracks put over "inspirational" videos to inspire the footsoldiers in the partnership - anyone else remember "What a feeling" ("Feel the passion, make it happen...") at the event at the Celtic Manor?

This event would be a dream for anyone tasked with the corporate video.

"They want you, they want you, they want new as a new recruit!"

  • DLA is the Hyacinth Bucket of law firms. The "largest" firm by headcount and revenue is a bottom feeder. DLA is not a contender for high value and high profile mandates, and it knows this. So DLA charters cruise ships and makes other audacious displays to convince its partners and the market that DLA has arrived or will soon. DLA's numbers are misleading. Its headcount is bloated by dysfunctional alliances and its revenue per lawyer is second rate. DLA's grand global strategy is fake it 'till you make. Until then, keep "churnin that bill, baby" to keep up appearances.

  • To Realist at 5 May 10.23. Ooooh got yer back up eh. You ask one what? "One" means "pr*ck". Do you want me to fill that gap in as well or are you thicker than I thought?
