New tax partner gives Speechlys global boost

Andrew Penny, who was a director at Rothschild Trust, joined the firm on 17 September.
He specialises in international tax and trust law and his role at Speechlys will focus on cross-border structuring for UK clients with assets abroad.
At Rothschild Trust, Penny advised a number of clients with interests in the US and he has also handled work in France, Italy, Latin America and Hong Kong.
The move will increase the number of private tax partners to six, and Penny will add an international dimension that was previously lacking.
He said: "I have some very good contacts across the globe and I hope to generate some business through them."
Penny said that he had worked with Speechlys while he was at Rothschild Trust and he considers it to be an efficient firm which understood about client care. "So when they offered me a job I took it," he said.
Speechlys managing partner Michael Lingens said: "Penny's appointment underlines Speechlys' commitment to growing this area of our business and it is in line with the firm's strategy of emphasising its existing areas of strength."
The move follows the recruitment of employment partner Chris Southam who joined from Osborne Clarke earlier this month.
