This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Those of you who are familiar with Lawyer 2B will have noticed something different about this bumper issue. We’ve followed the lead of sister title The Lawyer and have undergone a redesign. And this exercise isn’t just about making Lawyer 2B look prettier – although that helps.
Over the summer we met some of our readers to find out what you liked or disliked about Lawyer 2B and to find out how we can improve our online offering. The consensus was that the content is spot on, but we could improve the organisation.
Thanks to the redesign you should be able to navigate yourway around the magazine with greater ease. In the ’Features’ section we present the findings of our inaugural secondment survey. Meanwhile, in the ’Careers’ section we offer you some tips on the best way to spend a gap year and how to survive the dreaded assessment day. In the ’Law’ section you’ll find the Lawyer 2B regulars – The Law Behind and City Law in Practice – as well as features on the Companies Bill and the top cases of the term.
Finally, in ’Stuff ’ we’ve introduced ’Regional Focus’, in which we talk to trainees who have decided to pursue a legal career outside the big smoke.
Separately, we’re fully committed to launching a dedicated website for students and trainees so please do get in touch with any feedback either on the new look Lawyer 2B or our online offering. Lawyer 2B isn’t just about giving you tips on securing your dream job in the legal profession. It’s also about keeping you up-to-date with developments in the legal market and the law itself. Happy reading!
