New Court Chambers silk moves

Leading employment set Old Square Chambers is the latest set to profit from the dissolution of George Carman QC's New Court Chambers.

Frederic Reynold QC, a contract and employment law specialist, will join John Hendy QC's set this week.

Reynold was one of four silks based at New Court. Carman himself has joined 4-5 Gray's Inn Square and Charles Howard QC joined 1 King's Bench Walk.

Reynold's departure leaves only Peter Susman QC to secure a new tenancy.

Old Square has also taken on employment practitioner Mark Sutton from 4 Field Court and Steven Langton, a former solicitor specialising in PI and product liability, from Clarendon Chambers.

Two other tenants from Carman's New Court have also found new homes.

Senior junior Daniel Gatty, a commercial and property lawyer who also has a well established niche practice in computers, will join Christopher Gardner QC's Lamb Chambers on 20 March.

And Michael Brompton, standing counsel to Customs & Excise, is to join 5 Paper Buildings, the chambers of Godfrey Carey QC and Jonathan Caplan QC.
