Bupa has bolstered its in-house legal capability with the hire of a Leeds-based Addleshaw Goddard corporate finance partner.
Matthew Flinton quit Addleshaws in November 2006 to take the role of head of legal for Bupa Care Services, a subsidiary of the UK health services provider.
Flinton heads a team of three lawyers and reports to both Bupa group legal director Paul Newton and Bupa Care Services managing director Mark Ellerby.
“I’d achieved all I wanted in private practice. This position was geographically close to me and was one of the best in-house jobs going in Yorkshire over the past year,” said Flinton.
Flinton, who started in his new role on 1 January, is undertaking a review of Bupa Care Services’ panel of external advisers, which include Eversheds and Wragge & Co, but which may be extended to include Addleshaws.ꆱ
